What the Heck is Regret Good For?

Regret annoys me. I remember a cartoon my daughter watched when she was little. In it, a unicorn moaned and wailed about the state of regret in which she was living. It made lip curl and my skin crawl. “Quit sniveling,” I thought to myself. “Move on.”

That was a couple of decades ago. I’m not quite to judgmental now. (Although it is a flaw that I work on constantly). Now I realize we’re all different and we each handle troubles individually.

Of course, it’s important to reflect and recognize mistakes you’ve made and improve on them moving forward. Just don’t get stuck in the quicksand of the past. It’ll suck you down.

It’s over. Learn from it and move on.

And congratulations. You’ll be a better person as a result.
