Saturday night my husband and I hosted a BBQ. We invited many friends that we’ve been lucky enough to know for decades. The party started at 6 PM and our last guests left around 11 PM. Because I was with such cherished people, those five hours passed in the blink of an eye. A girlfriend arrived with a bouquet of flowers for me and as I gaze upon their beauty, I find myself reflecting on my good fortune to know so many wonderful people. Whether it’s a neighborhood dinner party; watching a football game together; going camping together; or just carrying people I love in my heart as I journey through this life, I have discovered the most valuable treasure a person can know is to love and be loved in return. I believe that’s why social media is so popular. Yeah, there can be bad stuff out there. But you can filter that out. You can focus on the good. And there is plenty of that out there too! It’s yours to enjoy.
