Inspiration Is Essential
One of the leaders of a company I worked for used to send out Thoughts of the Day on a daily basis. These inspirational thoughts were well received and an expected part of every morning of every workday. All of us looked forward to receiving them.
The history of the word is interesting. It comes from the Latin word inspiratus. It meant to breathe into. It’s been used medically to mean the drawing of air into the lungs since mid-16th century. But when you dig deeper, you find that in the mid-14th century the word inspiration had a meaning based in theology regarding a divine influence. I find it extremely interesting that a word that means to breathe is the same word that is used to describe a divine influence. And today, that word means to provoke a feeling of creativity and of hope.
Five days a week on Instagram; Facebook; and Twitter, I post what I’ve been told are inspirational thoughts for others to provide hope and encouragement. Know that they are there if you need them. Even if you don’t need them, they might bring a smile to your face, to your heart, and to your soul. I hope I can provide you with a breath of sunshine to brighten your life each day.
