HI All,
I belong to a beloved poetry group and we have a meeting tomorrow. The assignment was to write a poem on Spring.
Here is what I wrote:
Unhurried Change
Darkness
And cold
Envelop the earth
The silence is loud
The clouds…heavy as steel
Then, as slowly as a sloth
Opens first one eye and then another
The sun warms the air and the ground
The trees stretch their branches and the leaves
Unroll their green while waking from a long winter’s slumber
Cheery birds begin chatting with one another – first just a couple
But before long their friends and family all join in and their magical music
Tickles the air reaching up to the now pink clouds that float merrily along in a bluebird sky
Flowers’ fragrance bursts forth meandering past grateful noses while joining the titillating tunes’ journey
Eyes gasp in wonder at the emblazoned landscape embroidered in crayon colored hues of crimson, apricot, and gold
As gently as a butterfly alights on a flower
A new season blossoms
And grows
