One of the things that I love about writing is the enormous amount of education available. It’s limitless learning every day!
When I learned about creating a brand, it was at a meeting for the League of Utah Writers which is a favorite organization of mine because of the support and the resources provided. The person who taught the class is an author. But the thing that stood out to me was his positive spirit. That spirit poured out of his pores and drifted over us like a cloud of colorful glitter.
Of course, we should try to connect to our readers. We need to let our readers know what makes us tick and who we are as a person. We should distinguish ourselves from other authors.
My initial goal when I started my novel, Deadly Gratitude, was to inspire others while I entertained. I believe encouraging the human spirit enables others to transcend trouble. Eclipse evil with love, right?
So, in the interest of lifting up others, I’ve worked on inspirational quotes on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest. Nearly every morning, I search photos that speak to my heart to pass a positive thought of encouragement to others. Surprise, surprise – I’ve lifted myself up too.
The quote that I have on my Twitter account is, “The best way to receive joy is to give it away.” It came to me as I was reading the bible one day.
And it’s true. When you give joy to others, it boomerangs back and inserts itself into your life.
I hope you find some joy today!
